(Product Features)
The creation of Kaga Yuzen begins with a design and is divided into several processes, including sketching, paste application, coloring, and base dyeing, involving many artisans. However, all processes for the "Seasons of Dyeing" series are completed by me alone. You can appreciate the rich expressions achieved through the unique thread patterns of the mochi paste and the soft gradation created with a single brush stroke, characteristic of Kaga Yuzen.

Notes:
The art board can be hung on a wall.
It can also be stood upright by inserting a support rod from the back.
Please note that while gold leaf is applied, it may peel off due to friction.

What is Kaga Yuzen?
Kaga Yuzen is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that developed mainly in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It originated in the late 17th century and is a type of hand-painted yuzen that continues to this day.

Realistic and Delicate Designs
Motifs often include nature such as flowers, birds, and landscapes. Techniques like shading and "mushikui" (a style that mimics insect-eaten leaves) are used to create a sense of depth and realism.

Subdued, Refined Colors
Unlike the bright and decorative Kyoto-style Yuzen (Kyo Yuzen), Kaga Yuzen is known for its elegant and restrained color palette.

The Five Basic Colors
Kaga Yuzen typically uses five base colors: Indigo (Ai), Crimson (Enji), Ochre (Odo), Green (Kusa), Ancient Purple (Kodaimurasaki).
